Duties and Responsibilities
- Tool maintenance and storage
- Make sure that tools and equipment are stored safely and in good operating order.
- When feasible, fix broken maintenance tools and notify the maintenance manager of any broken tools or equipment.
- Determine the necessary supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Observe all site maintenance activities.
- Assist the maintenance technician in reviewing the craftsmanship when the task is finished.
- Maintenance of the tools and workspaces.
general maintenance, repairs, and facility support - Maintenance should be done on the lights (cleaning and replacing broken globes and tubes).
- All electrical, mechanical, and facility equipment must be repaired or replaced (under the direction of a qualified individual).
- Under the direction of the Maintenance
- Technician, perform planned maintenance in accordance with the schedule and maintenance matrix.
- Internal customer departments need your assistance.
- Carrying out occasional requests for moving or assembling furniture and other equipment.
- Install equipment and appliances.
- Perform simple carpentry and plumbing tasks under the maintenance technician’s guidance.
- Communicate with outside personnel and contractors.
Under the direction of the maintenance technician, complete any reasonable requests made by the maintenance department.
When supporting or carrying out any maintenance
- Obey health and safety regulations and uphold a safe working environment.
- Assist with the issuance of work permits as needed.
Qualifications and experience
- N3 or comparable (connected to trades) driver’s license with the code EB/08
- Training in fundamental health and safety is advantageous.
- According to operational needs as they arise, the maintenance assistant may be needed to participate on the standby rooster and answer calls outside of regular working hours.
- The maintenance assistant could occasionally need to work extra hours if necessary due to operational needs.
