Job Goal:
To support Transnet’s heritage assets with curation, documentation, research, storage, and maintenance. collaborating with the border heritage department to guarantee that Transnet’s historical artifacts are protected from degradation, loss, and/or theft.
Supporting the Senior Manager: Heritage Assets & Preservation, Museum Curators, and/or Specialist Librarians in maintaining their collections are among the duties of this position.
•Assist in the creation of installations, exhibitions, and unique projects.
•Providing feedback on exhibition design, set up, and installations.
•Assisting in the monitoring of students, visitors, and members of the public who want to look at historical sites while simultaneously preserving Transnet’s historical sites.
•Assist in developing and implementing projects and public engagement initiatives to support and improve exhibitions.
Requirements & Experience:
•A Bachelor’s degree or B-Tech in Business Management, Heritage Management, Fine Art, Art History, Curatorship, Heritage Studies, Visual Studies, and/or a related Humanities field.
•According to National Credit Act Amendment 19 Standard Work Standards, the requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances
• Code 08 on a driver’s license
• Travel when necessary and authorized
