Job Description

 

Customer service

· Identify and respond to all customer needs.

· Correctly advise customers about products.

· Assist customer with product inquiries.

· Address customer complaints promptly.

· Add-on sales, such as paint vs. brushes, thinners, etc.

· Ensure effective customer service by loading items promptly.

· Load customer purchases carefully to prevent damage to both the products and the vehicle.

· Inform customers about extra services offered:

· Delivery and bulk deposits

· Glass Cutting

· Plan reading.

Credit programmes

· Special orders.

· Trusses

· Distance ordering

· VIC Customer Programme.

· Product knowledge certification is required.

Requirements

 

· Grade 12 or at least one year of job experience.

 

• Proficiency in both English and the local tongue.

 

· Capable of performing basic computations accurately.

 

· Be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

 

· Must be able to operate under pressure

 

Housekeeping

· Ensure your space is free of impediments, stock is merchandised immediately upon receipt, and customers may approach and exit your aisle without injury or discomfort.

· Ensure accurate shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.

· Completing the checklist while on duty with the canteen and toilet/shower schedule.

 

Safety (OHSA) requirements

· Ensure OHSA compliance (e.g., using safety equipment, ensuring customer and staff safety) within area of responsibility.

• Ensure safe movement of items (racking and bulk) for customers and colleagues inside the store.

· Report any irregularities to the store manager.
