Purpose

A fruit and vegetable firm in Alberton is urgently seeking a Logistics Controller (Food production). This person MUST have quick thinking and the ability to maintain composure in a work setting that is always changing. Must have Solid administrative skills and industry understanding of the fruit sector. Must be able to speak in Afrikaans.

Qualifications 

A Tertiary qualification

2 years minimum of related experience
understanding of fresh fruit products

An operational or financial background would be advantageous.

Educated on computers.

Must speak English and Afrikaans both fluently.

Job description

Maintain contact with clients who are staging a show.

In relation to inventory, quality, and waste, handle all client inquiries and special requirements.

Update clients on all aspects of the services the organization provides.

Knowledge about the products and requirements of the client.

Daily reconcile the physical stock take with the inventory system.

Oversee the stock rotation.

Have a thorough and accurate stock report on hand for clients.

Make sure the production manager and operations manager are in constant contact.

Control waste and make sure that clients receive the report each day.

Get orders from pertinent merchants to keep track of volumes.

Be careful to submit and properly invoice any reworks, transport, handling, and cooling.

Complete daily production and traceability sheets, and retain records of both.

Before sending, check with the QA Manager to make sure the product satisfies the basic standards.

Administration and storage of all pertinent paperwork.

Practical and hands-on.
