Mine Overseer

The Role:

• Ensures that all targets for safety, health, the environment, planning, and production are met through effective management of the workforce.
• Legal accountability for the safety of all actions under his or her supervision
  the day-to-day management of his or her division with regard to expenses, output, and safety
• To ensure goals are met, short- and medium-term planning is necessary.
  ensures that all applicable legal and operational rules, processes, standards, and guidelines are communicated and are put into practice.
• Ensure that production goals and operational planning objectives are met.
• Help enhance the operational value chain, develops and maintains positive working relationships with other operational managers.
• Tight attention to maintenance and production schedules, meeting production

What youneed:

• Coal mining/engineering BSc, B Tech,
• Advanced Diploma, B Eng, or National
• Diploma Certificate of Blasting for Fiery mines
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency for Coal Mines or Mine Overseer’s
• Certificate of Competency
• Experience in a production environment as an appointed subterranean shiftboss for at least 4 years; sound knowledge of safety systems, regulations, and standards; strong appreciation for safety; and a track record of safety;
• A strong understanding of subsurface operations
• Possessing strong managerial, supervisory, analytical, communication, and interpersonal capabilities
• Understanding of the Mine Health and
• Safety Act Capability to organize, coordinate, and control activities; ability to handle pressure; and Innovation and initiative
• Possess thorough knowledge of safety measures and requirements, as well as a respect for safety, laws, and standards
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Legal driving license
