The engineering department is currently in need of applicants for the aforementioned position. Applications from suitably qualified candidates are being accepted. This position was evaluated at a level of peromnes 9.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make sure that all of the most recent PLC and HMi programs are saved in a secure location and are accessible to anyone who needs them. This goes for all Siemens programmers.
  • Watch and ensure that no machine is functioning with unauthorized PLC or HMI program updates.
  • Perform weekly/daily/monthly checks.
  • To ensure that all electrical equipment and installations function at their best in order to maximize process efficiency.
  • Testing instruments, cards, and drives, all types of electronic equipment.
  • Examine all ideas and suggestions, including the replacement or installation of modern technology, to increase machine availability.
  • Make suggestions for reducing equipment costs or improving the production process.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques after identifying the problem.
  • Before making any adjustments or changes to the equipment, discuss all design changes with the Electrical Superintendent and Technical Manager.
  • Continue to work on increasing line effectiveness and decreasing spoilage.
  • Problem-solving/troubleshooting should be done for any process or machine issues that are preventing the plant from meeting its EMU and/or spoilage goals.
  • Assist the plant in lowering maintenance costs by avoiding serious damage to machinery, stopping machinery before it breaks down, and implementing early problem detection.

Requirements to be met:

  • Recognized Trade test, *Qualified Millwright/Electrician with a minimum of N5 Qualification.
  • At least five years of expertise with fast-moving production machinery.
  • Knowledge of programming and fault-finding for Siemens PLCs S5 and S7.
  • Having experience with AC and DC drives from Altivar, Danfos, and Siemens is a plus.
  • Have the ability to understand electrical schematic drawings and identify faults.
  • Gas combustion and temperature control expertise.
  • Experience with inspection systems (such as inspection cameras); *Good interpersonal relationships and communication at various levels.
  • Computer proficient and capable at tackling issues analytically.
  • Be a self-driven team player who is extremely committed.
  • Be prepared to respond to calls for assistance and put in extra time as needed.
  • The capacity to work under pressure with little direction.
